Waste Recycling Group (WRG), one of the UK’s largest waste and resource management services companies, has been given the go-ahead to site two wind turbines at its closed Carnaby Landfill site, near Bridlington in East Yorkshire. This marks its first planning approval since moving into the wind energy sector in 2010.

UK regulators have today given permission for the Lillyhall landfill site in Cumbria to start receiving and disposing of high volume very low level radioactive waste (HV-VLLW), the lowest level of radioactive waste. Waste Recycling Group (WRG), which owns and operates the site, will work with its partner EnergySolutions to safely dispose of the waste, providing a valuable service to the nuclear industry and the UK.

Waste Recycling Group (WRG) in partnership with CEMEX have been awarded preferred bidder status for North Lincolnshire Council’s 27-year waste contract. The contract will treat up to 1.5 million tonnes of residual household (black bag) waste over its lifetime.
