FCC Environment has unveiled the latest part of its recycling and resource management infrastructure in the East Midlands with the opening of a brand new £3.2m materials recycling facility (MRF) at Somercotes Industrial Park, Alfreton, Derbyshire.

Businesses in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire will have to pay over £100 million this financial year to send waste to landfill, according to recent research. Last year, businesses in the area effectively threw away more than £90 million in landfill tax alone which will rise by over £11 million from 1 April, says leading recycling and waste management company FCC Environment.
