Welcome to re3

re3 is the Partnership between Bracknell Forest, Reading and Wokingham Borough Councils and FCC Environment set up to increase the amount of waste that is reused, recycled and composted across the three boroughs and to minimise the amount of waste sent to landfill.

The Councils and FCC Environment are working together to provide local residents and business with first-class facilities for recycling and disposing of waste until 2031.

In 2014/15 to the re3 partnership managed 199,077 tonnes of contract waste.

During the same period the recovery rate was 77.93%.

Changes at re3 recycling centres from 30th September

Charges for some non-household waste

re3 is introducing charges for the disposal of some non-household waste: soil and rubble, plasterboard, asbestos and gas bottles. We will check your vehicle on arrival at a re3 recycling centre to assess if you have any chargeable waste. Household waste will still be accepted free of charge.  Click here to read more.

Commercial and commercial-type vehicle permits

re3 residents will need a permit every time they want to bring household waste to a re3 recycling centre in a commercial or commercial-type vehicle. Permit application forms will be available on the Bracknell Forest, Reading and Wokingham council websites.  Click here to read more.

Commercial and commercial-type vehicle permit guidelines and the list of non-household waste charges are available in our Waste Acceptance Policy.

Bracknell recycling centre traffic lane upgrades

Residents are being advised of traffic lane upgrade work taking place at re3’s Bracknell recycling centre from 19th – 23rd September.

Occasionally, over the course of next week, small areas of the Longshot Lane site may have to be closed off for no more than 15 minutes at a time in order for concrete to be delivered and poured.  However, the recycling centre will remain open to re3 residents throughout the construction work period, with only very minor, if any, delays to visits anticipated.

Construction work at both the Bracknell and Reading recycling centres will see improvements to traffic flow ahead of the introduction of the commercial vehicle permit scheme and charges for some non-household waste on 30th September.
