Recycling at home

What can you recycle at home?

If you live in Bracknell Forest, Reading or Wokingham Boroughs you can recycle the following materials at home through your kerbside recycling collection:

  • Cardboard Paper stock of various types, pasteboard, paperboard and corrugated cardboard are all accepted. Large cardboard boxes from packaging should be flattened before placing into a container one site.
  • Paper
  • Tins and cans
  • Plastic bottles
  • Plastic pots, tubs and trays (except black) - FAQ
  • Clean foil and foil trays
  • Food and drinks cartons
  • Empty aerosols
  • Garden/green waste

It is important to put the correct things in your recycling bin. Materials that are incorrectly put in your recycling bins at home are known as contamination and are removed from the recycling and sent to landfill. At the moment high levels of contamination can be found in the recycling. This reduces the efficiency of the Materials Recycling Facility and can cause damage to the sorting machine.

To find out where re3 send your waste to be recycled, please view our Annual Environmental Report.
