Help us name our brand new glass recycling vehicles - submit your suggestions now!

We are calling on all re3 residents to help us name our two brand new recycling vehicles which will be hitting the roads in June.

These two trucks will be working hard collecting bottles and jars from bottle banks across Bracknell Forest, Reading and  Wokingham Boroughs and so deserve a smashing name.

This is where you come in! We would love to hear from all members of our community with ideas for names and we are sure re3 residents can come up with remarkable names that will reflect the hard work they do but please do keep it clean!

The winning names will appear on the two re3 glass recycling vehicles that will be used to collect glass bottles and jars from re3 bring banks located across Bracknell Forest, Reading and Wokingham Boroughs and the winner will be invited along to inaugurate the vehicles maiden voyage when they set off for the first time.

All suggestions can be submitted on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, with a support of #namere3truck hashtag. Alternatively you can submit your suggestion by email to with a subject: #namere3truck. The best ones will be put forward to the public vote. The closing date for entries is 5pm, 29th of March 2018.

Terms and conditions are available here. We look forward to hearing from you.

You can now recycle plastic pots, tubs, trays, cartons and foil from your home

Plastic pots, tubs, trays, clean foil, foil trays and food or drink cartons are now accepted as part of the kerbside recycling collections across the re3 area. It means that items such as fruit or vegetables punnets, ready meal trays (as long as they are not black), yoghurt pots, margarine tubs, cosmetic pots, foil trays used in takeaways or juice cartons can be placed in the recycling container. To ease the recycling process, residents are kindly asked to quickly wash items to clean off any food and squash them to free up space in the container. The councils will continue to collect paper, cardboard, tins, cans, plastic bottles and aerosols.

Welcome to re3

re3 is the Partnership between Bracknell Forest, Reading and Wokingham Borough Councils and FCC Environment set up to increase the amount of waste that is reused, recycled and composted across the three boroughs and to minimise the amount of waste sent to landfill.

The Councils and FCC Environment are working together to provide local residents and business with first-class facilities for recycling and disposing of waste until 2031.

In 2016/17 the re3 partnership managed 192,689 tonnes of contract waste.

During the same period the recovery rate was 82.3%.

To find out more about how the re3 partnership has managed your waste over the last year, please view our Annual Environmental Report.
