Project Status
Approval was granted by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council planning committee on the 7th of July 2011.
A planning application for two wind turbines has been formally submitted to East Riding of Yorkshire Council as of the 16th February 2011. The submission of the planning application to East Riding of Yorkshire Council follows a detailed Environmental Statement (Es) of the sites suitability for a wind energy project. The ES examined the potential effects during construction, operation and decommissioning of the turbines. Among the issues considered were: visual impact, access and transport infrastructure, noise, available wind resource and potential effects on local flora and fauna, including birds and bats.
The submission of the planning application follows feedback from a public exhibition held by FCC Environment on the 23rd July 2010. Here local residents and other interested parties were provided with the opportunity to find out detailed information about the proposal and provide their own feedback.
Following the public exhibition and a successful outcome from the Environmental Assessment, WRG intends to submit a planning application for the Gallymoor Wind Energy Project in Autumn 2010. A meteorological (met) mast was erected in June 2010 to help assess the available wind resource and is continuing to gather data at the Gallymoor Wind Energy Development site.
In addition, various Environmental Assessments are now taking place to help determine the suitability of the site for a wind energy project.
