Details of the FCC Environment Planning Application for a waste transfer station on land adjacent the London Road Depot, London Road East, Amersham are provided below:

The Buckinghamshire County Council reference number is CM/59/14

Following detailed public consultation and dialogue with the local community, FCC Environment has submitted a planning application and Environmental Statement for Amersham Waste Transfer Station. The application was considered by the Development Control Committee in June 2012 and was unsuccessful.

Planning Application No. CH/2001/6005/BCC

Planning Application Validated September 2011

Waste Transfer Stations are needed to reduce the distance waste is transported around the county. A second Waste Transfer Station is also being proposed in High Heavens.

The planning application describes the proposed development, including proposals to relieve the surrounding area of impacts associated with the facility. The Environmental Statement provides information on all potential impacts and mitigation including traffic, noise, odour, emissions, biodiversity, socio-economic benefits and other construction and operational aspects.

FCC Environment also submitted an application for an Environmental Permit to operate the Amersham WTS. Environmental Permits are issued by the Environment Agency and are subject to separate consultation.  The permit application was submitted in September 2011.
